A Look Back at 2020

Happy New Year!

2020 was a busy year for us at LootLocker as we officially launched the service and raised our first funding round. We've also been very busy on the product development-side of things, adding new features and overall improvements to the platform. Here are a few of the highlights from our 2020 releases:

User-Generated Content

Use LootLocker to let players securely upload custom game content, moderate the content, and then curate the approved content. With UGC becoming a more common feature in games, we are excited to provide a simple out-of-the-box solution for indies to take advantage of this popular feature.

Heroes

Configure and manage your game's heroes through LootLocker. Heroes can have specific loadouts and various other stats and assets associated with them and can be updated easily without having to push game updates. This works great for MOBA or RPG-style games.

Onboarding

We greatly improved the steps involved with creating an account and configuring a new game to ensure it's as smooth as possible. We also added a Sample Game which lets you view a fake game set up in LootLocker with pre-populated with data.

LootLocker Mobile App

We released a mobile app that connects to your LootLocker account's Sample Game to further demonstrate LootLocker features in action. The app's source code can also be downloaded for reference of how each feature works. If you haven't checked it out yet, you can download it from here (iOS) and here (Android).

Unity SDK

We released a Unity SDK for LootLocker aimed at simplifying the integration process into the engine. The SDK and mobile app source code can all be downloaded here.

Documentation

We created a whole new set of user documentation aimed at explaining how every feature works in LootLocker and Quickstart Guides for setting up new games and integrating SDKs. Check them out here.
